Luna iOS Support

Getting Started

Welcome to Luna on iOS - a private period and hormonal health tracking companion. This support guide will help you log your cycle, understand the app's features, and keep your data safe on your iPhone or iPad.


App Permissions

Luna may request certain permissions to function as intended. You can manage these under Settings > Luna on your device.

  • Notifications: Used solely to deliver the cycle and health reminders you configure within the app. We never send marketing or promotional notifications.
  • Microphone: Used for voice-to-text input when logging symptoms and notes. Speech is processed on your device - no audio is sent to external servers.
  • Photo Library: Used to attach images to your cycle log entries. Images remain stored locally on your device.

All permissions are optional. The app is fully functional without them, though certain features (voice notes, photo attachments, reminders) may be limited.


Core Features

  • Cycle & Symptom Logging: Track menstrual cycles, symptoms, mood, sleep quality, energy levels, and other health data.
  • Notes & Attachments: Add notes by text or voice input and attach photos to any log entry.
  • Predictions & Phases: View cycle predictions and phase estimates based on the data you log.
  • Exports & Reports: Export your data as CSV or generate PDF health reports to share with a healthcare provider.
  • Educational Content: Read articles and glossary terms about reproductive and hormonal health.
  • Cloud Sync (Premium): Optionally sync your data securely across devices with a Premium subscription.

Premium and Cloud Sync

Luna is free to use with core features available at no cost. Premium features, including Cloud Sync across devices, are available through an optional subscription:

  • Subscriptions are billed and managed through the Apple App Store and renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription any time under your Apple ID settings.
  • If your subscription ends, you keep access to all core features and your locally stored data; Cloud Sync is simply disabled.

All payments are processed by the App Store. Studio Phoenix does not collect or store any payment information.


Saving and Backing Up Your Data

By default, all of your data is stored locally on your device. To protect it:

  • Your data is included in iCloud backups if iCloud Backup is enabled (Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup).
  • Enable Premium Cloud Sync to back up your data and restore it by signing in on a new device.
  • Use the CSV export or PDF report feature to keep your own copies of your data.

Important: In local-only mode, uninstalling the app will permanently delete all locally stored data. Studio Phoenix cannot recover data that was never synced.


Health Disclaimer

Luna does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Cycle predictions, fertile window estimates, and phase calculations are statistical approximations based on the data you provide and may not be accurate. Luna must not be used as a contraceptive method or fertility planning tool. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical decisions.


Troubleshooting

  • Voice input not working: Ensure you have granted microphone access to Luna in Settings > Luna, and that dictation is enabled on your device.
  • Photos not attaching: Check that photo library access is granted in your device settings.
  • Reminders not arriving: Confirm notifications are enabled for Luna and that your reminders are configured in-app.
  • Export not saving or sharing: Ensure the Files app or your chosen sharing method is working and that your device has available storage space.
  • Cloud Sync not working: Ensure you are signed in, subscribed to Premium, and connected to the internet.
  • App crashes: Ensure your iOS is up to date and restart your device. If the problem continues, contact us before uninstalling (uninstalling deletes any un-synced local data).
